THE UNSEEN // There exists a place that is unseen where you will spend eternity. If you kept this your daily perspective, how would you live your life differently? // My husband helped me design this mug a couple weeks ago inspired by these words that have been on my mind since the beginning of the new year- FIX YOUR EYES ON THE UNSEEN. It’s inspired by this verse: “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever”2 Cor 4:17-18. My resolution for this New Year was to simply make this verse a reality in my life. It’s so easy to lose sight of what matters most in this world. We’re all striving to be or do something great, to feel important and respected, to feel happy and successful, so much so that we forget about what lasts forever. We let the worries and troubles of this world dictate our lives and affect who we are and how we spend our time. Our life is so short and one day this world and everything in it will be gone. It wont matter how much money you had, how successful you were, how talented you were, how many places you’ve been, or how many friends or followers on Instagram you had. The silly things you find yourself worrying about will not matter! When God calls me to my eternal home, I want to know I did my best to love Him and love others with my whole heart. “Now these three things remain: faith, hope and love; but the greatest of these is love.” How can I be better at love? I can start here- “Love is being patient with people, love is being kind to others, love isn’t being jealous or boastful, love isn’t being prideful, love doesn’t dishonor others, love isn’t self seeking, love is not easily angered, love keeps no record of wrongs, love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, love always protects, love always trusts, love always hopes, love always perseveres, and love never fails (1 Cor 13:4-8)”. It’s so simple but so complicated at the same time. I find it most difficult to do this when I face trials and hardships in my life. As humans we can tend to become so inwardly focused that we forget the importance of these simple truths. One day we will know what it’s like to never feel any pain, heartache, disappointment, brokenness, fears, worries, or discouragement. There exists a place that is unseen where you will spend eternity. If you kept this your daily perspective, how would you live your life differently? This mug is my daily reminder. The tree in the middle represents the beauty of Gods amazing creation. I find when I walk through a beautiful lush forrest, stare out into a still and vast lake, or gaze into a vibrant colorful sunset over the ocean, it shifts my thinking from the striving pace, busyness, and worries of this world to being still and reminding myself to fix my eyes on what they can’t see. My hope for everyone reading this is that you would be reminded of the same things. Love with your whole heart and know that whatever you are facing right now, it will one day pass. “Your life on this earth is like the morning fog- it is here a little while and then it’s gone (James 4:14)” so fix your eyes on the unseen!
Adorable!
