It’s been the most beautiful 7 weeks with our sweet little bird! It’s been a whole lot of “firsts” since we’ve brought her home; our first family walk, her first shopping trip, her first professional photo shoot, first bath, first Fathers Day, first time at church, first road trip, first Fourth of July, first family reunion, first wedding, first trail skate, and in the last couple weeks we’ve experienced her first beautiful smiles! My camera roll on my phone is loaded with so many precious memories and we’re so excited for the many more special moments we’ll be adding to it. Everly has a new nickname from us just about every couple days but her Daddy wrote her a lullaby the first week we brought her home and it’s titled “Little Bird.” We’ve been singing and humming it to her lately and she loves it! She loves music and it’s so amazing watching her be soothed by it. One night, she started crying and her Daddy laid her next to him on the piano bench. She immediately stopped crying as soon as Daniel started playing. That was another one of those moments I’ll never forget. She was completely peaceful and content the whole time he played for her. If someone were to ask me my favorite part of this stage of her life so far, I would definitely have to say the cuddles and snuggles I get in the mornings, and of course seeing her smile at me. There’s no better feeling in the world than being melted by her precious smile and cuddling up to her soft and squishy cheeks . I can’t believe she’ll be 2 months old next week! I’m taking in every moment and I’m just so thankful for every minute with her. Being a mom is the best!
