On the 8th of this month, our baby girl turned 2! We loved getting to celebrate her and surprise her with fun gifts. On the night before her birthday, while she was sleeping we decorated her room with balloons and happy birthday streamers. On the morning of her birthday we surprised her with a toddler Vespa! She was so excited about her “big bike” and she had no fear getting on it and riding it around. That afternoon we surprised her with some other little gifts and then sang happy birthday to her and watched her blow out a candle on a cupcake. After that we took her out exploring in the woods and captured her 2 year portraits. She loved walking around and exploring and we loved capturing her personality and cute moments. The next day we took her out for her first ride outside on her Vespa. Daniel programmed it so all of her favorite songs play when she turns the key. It was so adorable watching her push the gas pedal and take off for the first time as a Disney “Tangled” Rapunzel song played. I can’t wait to get out my Vespa and go for a ride with her! A couple days later we got to throw her a birthday party here at our house with our family and loved ones. The day before the party, we spent the day blowing up balloons and setting up a fun dance party for her, complete with moon and star balloons and a sound system playing her favorite tunes. My mom made her the cutest birthday cake, I made some cupcakes, and we had some yummy appetizers. Before her party we had been talking about birthdays and birthday cakes and she was really looking forward to blowing out her candles on her cake. I loved seeing everyone sing to her and watching her reaction. She did awesome and blew them out like a champ! She was so proud and excited. Our girl is growing up so beautifully and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s spunky, sweet, and so smart! It’s been fun carrying on full conversations with her and hearing her pronounce different words and phrases. She’s a little mockingbird! She’s also been really friendly when we take her out in public, waving to people and telling them “hi.” My favorite has been seeing how great of a big sister she has been to her brother. She’s so sweet and gentle with him. I can’t wait to see their relationship grow as the time goes by. It’s been such a joy watching Everly grow. I get emotional when I think about how quickly the time goes by, but every season has been so much fun. We’ve had our share of challenges at times, but the fun and special memories far outweigh them all. I’m so thankful for my family. It’s been a dream come true!
