Making memories

I’m starting to get the hang of being a mom of two. It hasn’t been the easiest at times but we’ve made so many fun memories together. Oliver is already 3 months old! He is always smiling and his daddy got him to laugh for the first time a few weeks ago. There’s nothing better than sweet baby giggles. He loves being up in a sitting position and loves watching his sister play. He’s been grabbing toys and putting them in his mouth and his hands are his current favorite thing to chew on. He’s rolling over all over the place! Little man rolled from his back to his tummy for the first time last week. He did it when my back was turned. I placed him in his crib on his back and walked in the other room for a minute and when I walked back over he was on his belly! He made sure to do it several more times so I could see too and since then he hasn’t stopped. Dan and I even caught him on his tummy with his head up scooting forward the other day. I have a feeling he may crawl early. He melts my heart with his smile and baby sounds. I can’t get enough of him and I’m just so thankful for this sweet boy of mine. Everly is at such a fun age right now. I feel like everyday she shows or tells us something new that she’s learned. For the last month she’s been really into singing the “Happy Birthday” song. She loves making pretend cakes and blowing out pretend candles after singing it. She also loves singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” the “ABC song,” and every single Blippi song that exists. The current Blippi fave is the “Firetruck Song.”😆 She surprised me a couple weeks ago when she held her play-doh and pointed to each letter and said “p-l-a-y-d-o-h, plaaayyydoohh.” Ever since then when I read to her at night, she’ll point to the letters on the title of the book then say the word as she underlines it with her finger. She blows my mind with how she can spell out certain words already and how I’m able to have full conversations with her. She loves counting to 14, she rarely sits still, loves exploring, and loves collecting rocks. I pray for her every night before she goes to bed and always end with saying, “In Jesus name, amen.” One night last month after I prayed for her I said “in Jesus name” and didn’t finish. Then a couple seconds later she said “amen.” Now it’s become something we say every night together. She’s so full of life and joy and it’s so fun being her mom. We got to take her to the waterpark for the first time last week. She loved it and was super brave going down all the slides. It was so precious seeing her so excited and happy and hearing her laugh and giggle. I gave Everly her first real makeup set two weeks ago. She’s been showing a lot of interest in mine and always wanting to get in my makeup drawer so I thought it was time. We’ve been having a lot of fun with it together lately. I love watching how detailed she gets when applying it. She knows exactly what everything is and what it’s for. I even gave her a special mirror compact to add to her makeup bag and she just loves it. She also got her first ukulele at the beginning of this month. It’s her very own “Frozen” purple Elsa ukulele. It was a gift from her Papa and she came home so proud and excited about it. It’s been so adorable watching her sing and play with it. When her Daddy pulls out his guitar she makes sure she brings it out to jam with him. I know I’m going to look back on these days and miss them, so I’m doing my best to be in each moment and capture it as best I can so we can cherish these memories. I’m so in love with my little miracles ❤️
