Hats are an obvious obsession of mine, thanks to my Daddy, who’s closet is currently overflowing with an easy 50 plus hat collection. The Fiddler Cap, also known as a Fisherman’s Cap (amongst other names) has been a long time favorite of mine. I still have my first Fiddler Cap that my dad bought for me over 10 years ago now. It’s the plaid one pictured above 🙂 There’s a lot of different variations of this hat but the original Fiddler Cap was either a navy blue or black wool felt. It can be identified by the small visor, braided cord, and flat top. Blue denim and corduroy were other popular fabrics. The original Fiddler Cap was introduced in the beginning of the 19th century in Europe as a practical and affordable work hat for factory workers and sailors. It became popular in the 1960s when musicians like John Lennon, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan began wearing them. The nickname “Fiddler Cap” came after Chaim Topols role in “Fiddler On The Roof” in the 1970’s. This hat made another come back in the late 1990’s by British women and now again in the 2010’s and I’m loving it. I love styling these hats. They’re so cute! I love seeing them on men as well 🙂 I’m currently on the hunt for a rad blue denim Fiddler Cap to add to my collection. Hope everyone is enjoying the end of their summer. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty excited about the fall season approaching!

In the process of cleaning out my closet I came across some Free People jeans that I had in my drawer that I got last year and totally forgot about. I’ve always been inspired by fashion from the 70s. I love looking though my moms old photos and gaining inspiration from her cute style (see October 2016 in my archives) In the process of finding my pair of Dittos last year, I found these black Free People bell bottoms. It was hard to find bells that had a wider flare at the bottom, so I was stoked to find these. Plus they were 50% off the regular price, so that’s always a win. They are styled with a white off the shoulder top and bolo tie from Forever 21, and my new head scarf that I thrifted for $1. Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
