Farewell Winter

Dan and I recently took a trip up to Mammoth Lakes for our anniversary.  We don’t get much of a winter here on the Central Coast so I was excited to enjoy some colder weather and get some use out of my winter wardrobe.  I was especially excited to wear my new faux fur coat that I recently thrifted.  It’s super warm and cozy and I love the color and shape of it.  When Dan and I were driving around exploring we saw this beautiful view off the side of the road so we decided to take some pictures. I am wearing my fur coat with my black hat from H&M, my black jeans from Forever 21, and my go-to black booties that I also thrifted.  I’m sad that winter is over but glad I got to experience a few days of it with my sweetie.  We saw some beautiful places and had fun cuddling in our room in the mountains.

I’ve been having a lot of fun styling my new Bed Stu’s that my husband gave me for Christmas. I just can’t get over how comfortable they are and how much they’ve already molded to my feet. I really like styling these oxfords without socks and thought I would have to suffer through a few blisters before being comfortable in them, but I was wrong! Check out their Instagram page @bedstu and their website to see all their amazing handcrafted footwear at www.bedstu.com and read about their story and how they came to be. I love that not a pair of their shoes are made exactly the same and each one looks unique. The name Bed Stu was inspired by a city in New York “Bed Stuy” that reflects the heart of Bed Stu- “genuine, unique, and imperfect.” I’m wearing my Bed Stu’s with my Forever 21 jeans that I distressed myself (see last blog post on DIY distressed jeans), my over sized white tee from Cotton On, a borrowed leather satchel from my husbands closet, my native style print scarf, and my favorite customized brown hat with feathers.
